Relationships explained!

Thursday, September 24th 2009 @ 5:02 PM (not yet rated)    post viewed 329 times

It can be hard to "see" how shutter speed, aperture, and ISO inter-relate and affect your images. Shutter speed is the length of time the shutter is open, aperture the size of the opening in the lens, and ISO is how sensitive to light your sensor is. How about an awesome and simple visual?

Here's a website with a picture simulator, you can play with shutter speed, aperture, and ISO and see IMMEDIATELY what it does to the picture! It's the best demonstration I've ever seen of these relationships! Click HERE to go see it!

I have a handle (I think) on using the right aperature and shutter speed but am having trouble remembering what ISO to use for which conditions. This was a great visual exercise.
