Plus or minus?

When shooting with an "auto" exposure setting, your camera will do best with a scene of mostly middle-tones (light to dark) and "balanced" or even amounts of dark and light places. What if it's just a light scene, like someone in light clothes in front of a light wall? Use your camera's "plus or minus" controls to PLUS the exposure in light scenes, and MINUS the exposure in dark scenes!
