Photo Editors

So, I'm going to be looking over the main group of free photoeditors to see what we'd suggest those for our members to use. I'd love to have any thoughts or experiences you have with any of the programs out there.
I know Photoshop some (though not as well as Miriam and Cherie) and Lightroom decently. So I've got quite a quest ahead of me.
I'll both post here and on the forums as I go along.
