PSE7 and playtime!

Wednesday, May 20th 2009 @ 9:30 AM (not yet rated)    post viewed 186 times

Photoshop Elements 7 has a couple of way cool tools that I played with yesterday for the first time, the Date View and Map View. I'd thought Date View would be just the standard Organizer (browser) window, with the pics ordered by some user-chosen date criteria.

I was wrong! In the "Month" view, you are suddenly looking at a calendar page of that month ... and every day that you took photos on has the first one filling in that day's "cell" in the calendar. You can move forward or back a month at a time by arrows either side of the month's name.

In the upper right corner of the feature is that photo again, with navigational tools below it: arrows for back, forward, and the ends of the set.

It was so much cooler than I had thought it would be, and isn't just a trick ... it makes it so much easier to mentally see your picture taking history.

So, let's try out Map View ... wow. Up pops a map of your hemisphere on the left side of the browser, and any photos you have with location data noted on them pop up as little stick-pins.

It's so visual and is so much cooler to look at and more useful than I would have thought. PSE7 is packed with cool and usable stuff ... more soon!
