Ok, so this is just a post about summertime photography ... but have you ever tried using some kind of support and shooting in the low light of cities and towns at night? Tripods and monopods are great, but even a bean bag on the edge of a garbage dumpster works fine. Alleyways and streets under the night lights and twilight look so cool, and all you have to do is support the camera so it can go to a slooooooow shutter speed to see the world of the dark!
