Using that "long" lens!

A "long" lens at f2.8 or 4 can separate things ... that same lens at f16 (or higher) brings things together! It's using "depth of field", which is the depth of the area-in-view that is in "acceptable" focus at any particular f-stop. Play with it, that's how we learn our photographic tools!

Ooooo, we should put this out as a challenge to members. If you have a long lens (200 mm or longer?) post pics that show how you have used shallow depth of field to separate the subject from the background and big depth of field to compress!
