Improving on Nature - by Cindy Kassab

Isn't this a beautiful daisy?

I bought a bunch of Gerbera daisies at New Seasons Market, in order to photograph them.  I took them home and in the late afternoon placed them near a west-facing window in my living room.  Using my Fujifilm S2 and a 105mm Nikon macrolens, I photographed several of them, looking directly down on them.

I really liked the petals in the the image above, but the center was too dark.

I really liked the center of this flower, but the petals just weren't as interesting as the first image.

So, in Photoshop, I cut the center out of the second image, and carefully placed it into the first image.  Voila!  The perfect flower.
