Q. How do the Forums work?A. It's pretty easy. Just follow the steps below to view & to participate!
1. Scroll over 'FORUMS'in the top bar.
2. Click on "Category List & Activity". This page shows you the different forums and when they were last active.
3. Click on each forum to see the current (and past) threads. (A thread is a series of posts on a topic.)
4. Click on a thread to see member comments & discussion.
5. Please join in! To respond to a thread, click the 'Reply Now' tab. (the middle tab) Type your reply in the 'Message' box, and click 'Reply to Post'.
6. Start a new thread - please! Click on the 'Post New Topic' tab. (the second tab) Enter a Subject, and type your question, comment, etc. in the 'Message' box. Click 'Post New Topic'.
Be sure to check out "Moment by Moment" every day. This Facebook-like forum gives us a chance to let each other know what we're doing each day - photography related or not! It's a good way to get to know one another and our daily routines.
"Personal Conversations" is a good first stop if you're new to the site. Tell us about yourself! We want to get to know you. This is the place for a more in-depth conversation about our lives.
"Photography" is where you post your questions about photography. Members & mentors respond and give sage advice. (Well, mostly.) Be sure to check out the new posts, and add your thoughts - we want your input, too.
"Business & Marketing" is for those who aspire to a professional career. We have one mentor, Fred Molesworth, who is an expert in the subject, and there are other members who have great ideas!
"Photo Critiques" is always a popular forum. Post an image here, and ask for input. You'll get it! The mentors also like to look through the galleries for interesting photos, so be sure to check here often - you may find one of your images being discussed.
On the home page, you can see the most recently posted topics. Scroll down the page, and note the Forum table there. Click on one of the recent topics to quickly navigate there. A current limitation of our hosting platform is that this table only lists the most recent Topics, not the most recent Posts, so there may be a current post from an earlier topic that isn't shown here. (Clear as mud, right?) Just be sure to look at the Category List & Activity page every day to see the most recent postings.
